Anna Mellor, who goes by @mellorlite on TikTok, was left speechless when she found herself in this scenario. In a video that left netizens chuckling, Mellor shared how she discovered her husband's "love letters."
In what might perhaps be the most romantic traditions by a spouse, Mellor's husband had been leaving sweet little messages in her shoes for years. While he'd assumed she was aware of this practice, it was only after years of marriage that Mellor caught on.
Mellor captioned the video: "Me thinking it was a love letter for someone else has the same energy as when Rory was proposing and I thought the ring was somebody else's that got lost at the beach." The hilarious clip—which racked up over 260k likes—featured a text inlay that read: "I just discovered a six-year secret my husband has been keeping from me."
The video starts with Mellor explaining that it was not her filming day and that she was supposed to do the editing. However, she decided to pick up the camera after noticing something written inside the pair of shoes she was about to wear. I was lacing up my shoes and realized there was something written in the shoe," she says in the clip, adding: "It is going to be messy." She then read what appeared to be small love notes like lovers would write for their newfound love. How cute!
She first showed her white Fila sneakers and the message inside said, "I Fila lot better when you are around." We are melting. Then Mellor called her husband Rory and informed him about the discovery. She said, "I was like, I just found a love letter in my shoes."
From Rory's expression, he seemed to be confused. For him, it was not something new. He had been writing these letters for years, but Mellor remained oblivious. That aside, she thought the letters were not meant for her.
"He’s like, 'Are you being serious?'" Mellor shared. As it turned out, the love notes were directed to Mellor, and apparently, he has done this to all her shoes for six years. I mean, what a man!! She couldn't believe what he said so she went back and pulled out all her shoes. To her surprise, all her shoes featured these handwritten love notes. She added, "Is that not the cutest thing you have ever seen?"
TikTok users had a meltdown watching this video and they flooded the comment section. A TikTok user, @Kimborino, wrote, "The fact he continued to do it for years when you didn’t notice.10 pm night one I would have been like 'what the heck?! How did you not notice?'"
Mellor later shared the video on her Instagram account and people showed much love for the couple there as well. @nicolettetayler wishes her husband to take hints from this cute gesture and says, "Hold up, I’m about to rewatch this in front of my husband with the volume up REAL high, dropping hints." @cole_lynn20 commented, "So cute!!! You picked a winner for sure!"
A Tiktok user, @morganstjeanmusic, suggested a profitable idea and commented, "I ‘FILA’ a lot better when you’re around should be a Fila campaign, just saying." After Mellor's hilariously sweet revelation, we second that idea.
