Will Poulter Recalls Meeting Man at a Urinal Who Confused Him for Sid From ‘Toy Story’ | “Well, That Was Animated”

Celebrities often have weird encounters with their fans. And recently, the Maze Runner star recounted a funny incident with a man who confused him for an animated character, Sid from Toy Story. This happened at a urinal during Will Poulter's trip to LA. LOL. So what do you think about the resemblance? The animated antagonist from Toy Story—the Disney Pixar series, Sid, Andy's [the protagonist] nosy and troubled neighbor who tortured toys. Well, for years, people have found an uncanny resemblance between the two, and Poulter has been subjected to several memes and jokes. Using this to his advantage, Poulter once even dressed up as Sid for Halloween in 2017 for a noble cause of spreading awareness for anti-bullying. However, this time, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 star addressed people's fixation with his physical appearance.

In a recent interview with GQ Hype, the British actor recalled, "A guy at a urinal in LA last week turned to me and said, 'You are in Toy Story, right?' And I was like, 'Well, that was animated,'" as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Haha! Quite that sounds awkward. Poulter has always taken the comparison with the animated character lightly and even poked fun at himself sometimes but that didn't turn out to be in his favor as he acknowledged, "So arguably I haven't helped my case, but [Toy Story came out in] 1995. I was two. And they weren't doing it through live-action." Well, it makes sense.
The 30-year-old actor has mixed emotions and addressed in the interview, "It's funny—when things trend like that on the internet, all context is lost and a big one is talking about overnight transformations. The one that went viral in relation to me was a picture of me in We're The Millers next to a picture of me in Guardians. There are literally ten years between those two pictures but people don't even realize it." The Chronicles of Narnia star shared another incident, "Someone in the pub two days ago said, 'Oh, you've had a glow up. Congrats.' It's a little bit hard to not accept that as 'You were ugly for the best part of your life and now things are looking up a bit!'" The actor seemed disappointed by the insensitive comments.

"I don't know if that's just me being cynical but it's hard to not take it as a backhanded compliment. People say it like it's positive but it could also contribute to a complex," concluded Poulter. Jokes aside, this sounds like a serious underlying issue of putting someone down. But overall, he has been taking it in good spirits.
Currently, Poulter is all set to hit the screens with the Marvel team alongside Chris Patt. He also mentioned how he is comfortable in his own skin. "I am very comfortable and secure in the knowledge that I'm not conventionally attractive." Kudos to him for that.
