Some of us carry lunch boxes from our homes to our workplaces wishing that we could have the meal piping hot—as if it had been cooked just then. Well, hot tiffin cases might help us out in these situations but electric lunch boxes are even better. They can not only keep our food warm but help us cook almost anything we might want to eat. A woman named Allison did just that and posted a video on her @timetoletergo TikTok page which went viral. She managed to cook an entire steak and baked sweet potato meal at her office desk and the number of views are leaving us in awe.
Aiding Allison in her mission to cook a steak lunch was her trusted electric lunch box which can prepare a perfect meal only at the flip of a switch. She had already experimented with other dishes but her most ambitious attempt has been cooking a steak with sweet potatoes and green beans in the lunch box.
Allison can be seen in the video marinating the steak with soy sauce and spices as she reaches her office in the morning. She also wraps a sweet potato in tin foil and preps a can of green beans to refrigerate it until lunchtime.
As lunchtime arrives, she slices the steak and places it in the electric lunch box after which she adds the sweet potato and green beans. As she plugs in the electric lunch box, we hold our breath in anticipation. Will she manage to cook her most challenging dish in the lunch box or not? The good news is, yes. Allison has also revealed the state of her steak in the lunch box by making a follow-up video.
It’s the moment of truth as she opens the lunch box to reveal perfectly cooked green beans but the steak looks slightly unappetizing and expectedly a tad undercooked with a greyish layer on top of it. The text in the video reads: "Of course, the meat is looking hella sus per usual."
Unwrapping the sweet potato and sticking a fork it in easily indicated that at least they have been cooked to perfection. Though Allison confesses in the video that the entire meal "doesn’t look great" as she puts a piece of steak in her mouth and chews, she exclaims that it is good. Well, we can’t complain if the cook herself is enjoying her own creation.
She enjoys the green beans but unfortunately, not the sweet potato. Allison defends the lunch box by saying that "it just wasn’t a good potato and it’s not the fault of the lunch box." Though the viewers debated whether the steak meal actually tasted good or if Allison was simply faking it, they also appreciated the electric lunch box’s ability to cook a lot of stuff with versatility. The audience appeared skeptical about going through all the hassle when one can easily just use the lunch box to heat up pre-cooked food. But some curious folks might just try using the electric lunch box for cooking as well.
