Thrift shopping often helps us find some amazing deals if we are lucky. We can find designer clothes at a cheaper rate and plenty of other stuff, too. But these pre-loved items often come with surprises within them, and the surprises can be ugly at times. So when this lady from North Carolina discovered a creepy note inside the pocket of her newly-purchased red blazer from a charity shop, she was left stunned, and so were countless netizens who came to know about the incident.

The woman identified as JoAnn Murray on Facebook can be seen wearing a bright red blazer with beautiful floral embroidery on the lapels and the pocket. The picture was apparently posted by her partner Scott Murray in April 2021 after they fished out a mortifying note from the blazer pocket that contained instructions about the previous owner's funeral wishes. The note pinned to the insides of JoAnn's new purchase read: "Bury me in this red suit."

The note left on a scrap of paper was possibly overlooked by the family member of the one who previously owned the red blazer, and they could have ended up donating the outfit to charity. The North Carolina couple couldn't help but share the picture of JoAnn wearing the blazer and the weird note on Facebook and captioned it: "Thrift shopping JoAnn found this lovely red jacket and it had a note pinned in the pocket.''

The two-year-old post recently resurfaced and garnered quite some attention from netizens who shared their thoughts on it and showered the photograph with hundreds of likes and shares. "Oh, I hope she got buried in something wonderful," one Facebook user wrote whereas another said that "it is making them sad that the previous owner's final wishes were not fulfilled." A few others even claimed that they won't dare to wear that blazer after finding the creepy note in it.

However, some netizens were convinced that it could be an elaborate prank on the new owners of these donated clothes. Well, pranks and mysterious discoveries amongst the thrift goods are not uncommon. According to Inside Edition, a man from California purchased a random VHS tape from his local thrift store out of sheer curiosity as it had a smiley face and a cryptic title on it that read: "A surprise." But when he went home to play the tape, it started showing him static at first but soon the video of Rick Astley's 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up started playing.

Through this harmless prank, the man sure got "Rick Rolled" which is an act of persuading someone to watch an enticing clip only to be shown Astley's famous music video instead. Perhaps the note inside the blazer was the work of a prankster and its previous owner possibly did not die with their last wishes unfulfilled.
