Woman With Strange Eating Disorder Feasts on Her and Her Mother's Mattress | "It Is Getting Way Out of Hand"

What is the strangest thing you've ever had as a meal? Everyone is addicted to some food items, which may be healthy or unhealthy, but this woman’s bizarre addiction will make your jaw drop. When most people are out there trying to shake off their alcohol, drug, or internet addiction, a woman named Jennifer is feasting on mattresses instead. Jennifer’s story was featured in an episode of TLC’s My Strange Addiction where she revealed that she chewed up a square foot of mattresses one day and then started eating her mother’s mattress as well.

In the words of Jennifer, she "likes her mattress plain and straight up, no mayonnaise, butter, none of that."

"The side effects of eating mattresses, gas is really the only one you'd have. It enters my body and leaves my body, it enters my system and goes out," she added. The video mentions that Jennifer eats 0.9 square meters of mattress every day. She has consumed more than 8 mattresses since her addiction began. 

Jennifer’s weird eating habit started when she was just five years old and she began with the sponge from the seat in the family’s car. Despite not having suffered any serious health issues so far, it still puts her at risk of getting her liver damaged and having her intestines blocked, which might prove to be fatal for Jennifer.

Jennifer's mattress addiction not only stuns the internet but her own family members as well, which includes her brother Darius and her mother who says that "Jennifer eating her mattress is getting way out of hand." The audience can see her family trying to reason with her in the show and tell Jennifer that they care about her but Jennifer abruptly leaves without finishing the conversation.

Later in the episode, we see Jennifer visiting a doctor as she was warned about her potential health risk in the future if she doesn’t change her strange eating habits. Jennifer seemingly realizes the issue is getting serious and promises to change her ways. 

Another man, Michel Lotito's eating habits will also leave you speechless. Lotito infamously consumed an entire plane over the course of 2 years. According to Guinness World Records, he earned the moniker of 'Monsieur Mangetout' and was awarded the Guinness World Record for 'strangest diet'. Michel suffered from an eating disorder called pica which makes people crave indelible objects for eating. For a regular person, it might have been impossible to digest shards of glass and metal but for Lotito, it was relatively easy because of his strong digestive juices and thick lining in his stomach.

Surprisingly enough, actual food items made Lotito sick so he was content sticking to his diet of metal, glass, and even motor oil.
