Woman’s Supernatural Home Décor Is Scaring Away Renters | “This Isn’t Morbid Curiosity. Everything Has a Story”

Our room decors often reflect our personality and preferences but what if those unique decors are disturbing enough to scare away renters? Beckie-Ann Galentine's place is full of occult and supernatural-themed interior decor which is apparently super hard to rent. On May 30, 2023, she shared a now-viral video on her TikTok profile @mybloodygalentine and gave her viewers a quick tour of her place which gives us an idea about why it's hard to rent the house.
Galentine's space is choke full of used coffin caskets, vintage Ouija boards, bags of hair, gemstones, toe tags and even hospital doors. As she pans her camera in another direction, we can see a tombstone as well. “Reasons my landlord can’t find anyone to rent my place,” she wrote in the caption of the clip. The video has garnered more than 1.4 million views as of now. No doubt visitors and potential renters are taken aback by her wacky choice of room decor but Galentine thinks otherwise.

She believes that it is not macabre and she loves to explore the history behind these creepy items. She elaborated on it while talking to Insider. “I do think it is shocking to people. But I want to reinforce the idea that this isn’t a morbid curiosity. It’s about the people and their stories.” On her entryway Galentine has placed doors from Danvers State Hospital which used to be an old psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts. The hospital was shut down in 1992. Her bizarre interiors also have the tombstone of a pastor named John and a shipping coffin that was used to transport a body.

“Everything has a story,” Galentine explained. “To me, I feel like a custodian or a steward of the items instead of being a collector or owner.” The creepy decorations might alarm visitors and renters but Galentine keeps it for a reason. She previously used to work as an embalmer and according to Shoutout DWF, she is now working as a paranormal investigator. When questioned about her career preferences which have taken the supernatural route, Galentine explained to the outlet that she applies mortuary ethics to her paranormal content and graveyard history. "I also never made my content about myself or vanity – I want to share their stories without it being about my appearance," she added.
I read the headline as "my eerie doctor" and thought it was about a doctor who kept a coffin in his office haha

If u want to rent the unit, take it TF out. If you want to maintain your aesthetic, leave it & be broke. JFC this isn’t hard. Or, bitch online about ppl not appreciating your awful taste & it’s “their fault” 🙄. Hey, my restaurant serves food ppl don’t like, why am I broke?

However, the internet has polarizing reactions to her love for occult and paranormal. One Twitter user even slammed her for "blaming people just because they do not appreciate her awful taste" and suggested she change the aesthetics of her home in case she wants to rent it out. Well, the content creator seemingly isn't changing her personal aesthetics related to dark practices and voodoo stuff anytime soon as she continues to post videos on her social handles featuring her lifestyle. Hopefully, she can find a tenant who shares her tastes and preferences.
